Facelift on the cards for three Denbigh housing estate
Council properties on three housing estates in Upper Denbigh are set to receive an external make-over later this year, as part of the Council’s on-going investment in its properties.
The works at Maes y Goron, Bryn Garth and Lon Llewelyn will include new roofs, new render, new roofline (facias, soffits and gutters, concrete repairs to pathways and replacement fences where required.
The contract will be awarded later this year and the work is expected to start in the Autumn. The project will take around 25 weeks to complete.
Councillor Tony Thomas, Cabinet Lead Member for Housing, Regulation and the Environment, said: “The Council has invested heavily in its properties over the years to meet the Welsh Housing Quality Standard. Denbighshire was the first authority in Wales to have all of its properties meeting the Standard and the investment has continued, to ensure that the quality and standard of our accommodation is the best it can be. Investing in housing, including building new ones remain a key priority for the Council in its Corporate Plan.
“The works on these three housing estate will complement the improvements that have already been carried out to properties on Myddleton Avenue and Maes Glas Avenue. Future projects will include the remainder of our stock of properties in Upper Denbigh.
“We are proud of the work that has already been undertaken in Denbigh and look forward to working with our tenants on this latest project to upgrade their properties. I’m sure they will be delighted with the end results.
