Play areas
We want to encourage children to learn through play, which is why our play areas and landscaping improvement programme is already taking shape. A number of play areas have already been upgraded, as they were outdated and tired equipment. The sites were also unattractive, lacked investment and were therefore, not being used by local communities.
We have invested over £1.7m in upgrading a number of play areas already, including a variety of new and challenging pieces of equipment. We are continuing to improve some of our remaining areas and they have been selected based on their current condition and suitability. We are really looking forward to seeing our communities play areas buzzing again.
Some of the play areas that we have improved so far are:
- Coronation Close, Bodelwyddan
- Clawdd Poncen, Corwen
- Maesafallen, Corwen
- Godre Coed, Cynwyd
- Cae Hywel, Denbigh
- Pen Y Graig, Denbigh
- Station Road, Gwyddelwern
- Maes Sadwrn, Henllan
- Llidarit Annie, Llantysilio
- South Avenue, Prestatyn
- Bruton Park, Rhyl
- Kinglseys Avenue, Rhyl
- Sholing Drive, Rhyl
- The Geufron, Rhyl
- Maes Hafod, Ruthin
- Heol Clwyd, St Asaph
Our investment in play areas see the existing play equipment being replaced with modern, innovative equipment designed to be attractive to a wide age range, as well as being fully inclusive. We really hope our communities are having an adventure in the new and improved play areas!
